We are campaigning to promote the need for local authorities to have an empty property strategy within their wider Housing Strategy and a dedicated Empty Property Officer (EPO) to tackle empty properties in areas where there is high demand. This is a vital element of local authority work and it is very important that it is adequately resourced.
Networking is another invaluable resource for EPOs and we are committed to ensuring that every EPO is a member of a regional forum. We are also in dialogue with the Regional Housing Boards.
Do you know who handles empty property work in your local authority? Without an EPO empties will stay that way. We also work closely with the National Association of Empty Property Practitioners (NAEPP).
Consultancy Services
The Empty Homes Agency offers free on-line and telephone help and advice to local authorities, RSLs and other organisations to help them return empty properties to use.
In response to demand for more comprehensive services to support empty homes work we are now able to offer a series of consultancy packages or tailor-made consultancy services which help deliver sustainable solutions to bringing empty homes and other wasted property back into use.
The Empty Homes Agency is a limited company, registered under the Industrial & Provident Societies Acts, with charitable status. Our work revolves around two key goals: To highlight the waste of empty homes and wasted property in England; and With others, to devise, promote and deliver sustainable solutions to bringing empty homes and other wasted property back into use.
Our unique skill set and experience means that we are the only organisation in the country able to offer comprehensive consultancy services on returning empty homes to use.
