Empty Homes Campaign on Facebook!
There are approximately 1,000,000 empty homes in the UK, please take a moment of your time to help us build a register of all of these forgotten buildings throughout the UK.
All you need to do is either write on this groups wall the full address (postcode optional) of an empty or derelict you know anywhere in the country, or visit http://reportemptyhomes.com/ , and we will be able to add it to the register, from which we can hope to track down owners, or put pressure on local councils to tackle the problem and regenerate local areas and prevent further damage to both the empty house, and surrounding property.
We would also ask that you please take another moment of your time to invite your entire friend list to this group; if everybody adds there friends, and each friend registers just 1 house, then we can register 99% in no time at all and start pressuring government to tackle this major issue and turn eye-sores and local problems back into useful, and perhaps even affordable housing for us all.
Not only can you do your bit to help turn empties back into use, but you will also be helping towards cutting climate change; as new builds cause up to 90% more pollution than a regen project. with a million prospective regen projects out there.. there should be no excuse for recycling houses before building new ones and wasting our limited supply of green fields in our country.
Thank you for your time and your contribution!
Sign the Charles Baslington Empty Homes Petition

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to require every Local Authority to create a register of empty homes in their area, and following that to enact measures to bring some of them into occupancy thus saving some greenfield building. The Local Development Framework investigations currently being undergone, ignore the potential supply of empty homes of which there are estimated to be 870,000 in the UK (Empty Homes Agency). This is more than 4 year’s supply, according to Kate Barker’s Housing Review.
